Department of Ultrasound

Ultrasound is the first of the newer imaging methods developed, leading to diagnostic imaging leaps. It is a simple, inexpensive method, without radiation and with a wide range of applications.

Ultrasound allows the control of both the intra-abdominal organs and the superficial structures of the human body, giving solutions to problems concerning the abdominal cavity, the upper and lower extremities, the cervix, the breast, the scrotum.

The absence of radiation makes this method especially useful in infants, children and pregnant women.
